I enjoy this technique and the way those bits of strong color emerge through the entire piece. For all those golfers out there, I can't believe you can get the ball anywhere near the hole. There was a ridge line on this part of the course that had to be cleared. I'm not a golfer so if anyone knows the terminology better feel free to let me know. In this painting I was playing with the color and started with a blue toned canvas to see if it might help to tie the piece together while I played with my reds. I feel like the perspective was really helped by that. I am very excited as he has shown me not only many things about painting but also many things in regards to selling my works online. I have cleared my blog and am starting fresh. Of course many of my pieces have already sold like this one. But many others were never really shown. So I will get them posted for the second and last time in the next week. I will be doing a show for my sculpture work in Scottsdale and won't be back home to Santa Fe until the beginning of next week.
